Richard Hill First Programme Notes

I want to start my programme notes by thanking the fantastic supporters who travelled to Farnborough last week.

Your welcome was appreciated and I want you to understand what an important part you have to play in the success of this club.

Make no mistake, the management, directors, players and supporters all have an equal role at Stevenage Borough.

We are all part of the same team and we all share the same goal which is to take this club into the Football League.  Everyone must work together with this aim in mind and make sure there are no grey areas that come between us to prevent the success of this club.

If you can continue to show the same passion I have for the job, then we will already be a long way down the road.

As you get to know me, you will understand I am not a manager for bold predictions or groundless statements.

If we achieve overnight success then all well and good.  If not, then you can rest assured that I will be giving 120 per cent hard work and commitment and will tolerate nothing less from my players.  If that means I don’t see my family for days on end, or my private life suffers, then so be it.  I am fully aware what the supporters of this club expect.

On the subject of Farnborough last weekend, the result was of course disappointing, although there were positives to be drawn from the game.   I will not pick out individuals for praise or blame>  We win as a team and we lose as a team, if there is anything that needs to be said you can rest assured individual players will be told.

I want to welcome Dover to Broadhall Way for this FA Trophy clash.  In my days with Kettering and Nuneaton I played in the competition and appreciate its importance.

It’s also beneficial to focus on another competition, other than the league.

Enjoy the game, and make sure you play your part in ensuring the success of Stevenage Borough.
